European technologies, brand and core manufacturing; Chinese skid, cost and prices – a tribute to successful launch of LMF low-temperature assembly at Lingang base

Autumn is said to be a season of great splendor. Even more importantly, it is a season of plentiful harvest. Following Kaishan Group’s acquisition of Austria’s LMF Company, the latter’s first set of low-temperature piston compressor assembly (B 152-150 N.5) is successfully launched at Lingang Base.

The assembly will be used to service Phase 1 of a certain LNG terminal or recovery and recycling of low-temperature flash steam in the storage tanks. The inlet temperature of flash steam is -145℃, making it practically impossible for Chinese piston compressor manufacturers. By virtue of its leading design ability, first-class manufacturing capability and meticulous workmanship, LMF was able to break through the ranks and captured the contract. Shanghai Kaishan’s quality skid level, highly efficient cost control and comprehensive site management were sufficient to win over LMF, prompting it to appoint Kaishan as its official skid contractor.

LMF is renowned piston compressor manufacturer. The 160-year-old company boasts design, manufacturing and services under-one-roof and as such is a world-leading high-end energy equipment supplier. In particular its market share for marine compressor industry is over 85%. Shanghai Kaishan is Kaishan Group’s manufacturing base in Lingang, and is well-known locally and around the world for its comprehensive management, first-class workers and outstanding product quality. The inter-continental cooperation heralded a Diesel “Made in Europe, Skidded in China”. Leading European technology coupled with Chinese “efficient, simple and confident” looks set to be a model that enables Kaishan to make waves in the piston compressor industry.

A review of the assembly’s skidding process will show that it is one that encapsulates the sweat and devotion of workers from both sides. From mutual suspicion to understanding and support the process was not entirely smooth. Ultimately it was the Chinese workers’ professional attitude and work efficiency that won over LMF’s respect. At the same time LMF workers’ quality and workmanship spirit impressed Kaishan considerably. What moved LMF in particular was the fact that Kaishan workers elected to spend weekends and holidays and worked overtime on the front line simply to avoid delays in Customs clearance, which would in turn cause a delay in delivery. The sight of workers from both sides taking photographs and thanking each other at the end of the project is particularly memorable.

Following this, an all-new work Diesel “European technologies, brand and core manufacturing; Chinese skid, cost and prices” will surely break forth in full splendor against the background of Kaishan’s globalization.
